Meet Clementina Kabutha, a highly skilled Kenyan filmmaker, wears multiple hats as a producer, director, screenwriter, cinematographer, and video editor.
Rahab : What do you like most about your job as a producer / director
Clementina: I love being a producer because I get to see how a mere idea turns to a cinematic master piece. I get to be there from the start until the last bit of it. Its a very big fulfillment for me.
Rahab : What do you consider your artistic process when it comes to making a film
Clementina: I love listening to the idea first. I am passionate about telling Kenyan stories and authentic stories. If I love the story I will get myself to it, then go through the process of internalizing the story then move on to the processes of filming.
Rahab : Why did you start making films?
Clementina: I started making films because I love telling stories. It was a way to express myself and act as a voice to certain topics.
Rahab : What are you currently watching?
Clementina: I am watching a lot of shows right now. I have been doing reality shows lately a lot.
Rahab : Any advice to those starting out in the film industry ?
Clementina: It seems hard sometimes but it gets better. Trust you instincts and accept help.
